The U.S. and Israel will jointly practice missile defense in a two-week drill aimed at sending Iran a warning. The official version is that there's nothing unusual in the maneuvers that teams anti-ballistic missile systems from both the U.S. and Israel. This year's version of the biennial exercise starts today and features some one-thousand American personnel. It's been dubbed Juniper Cobra. Israel Radio quoted an unnamed commander insisting the drill is, quote, "to prepare for a nuclear Iran." Analysts say the statement suggests that Israel is begrudgingly bowing to Washington's misgivings about a pre-emptive strike on Iran's nuclear facilities.
