Jobless folks in Iowa have a new place to turn for help today. The Iowa State Fair is making room for a job fair and town hall dealing with workplace issues. Central Iowa Works Day is designed to make it easier for the unemployed. One of the organizers told the "Des Moines Register" that for many jobless people, the state fair, quote, "may be their only family vacation." Twenty organizations will be participating, including the Iowa National Guard and United Way. The town hall will let people pose questions to several panelists from a local community college and job agencies. It'll also feature free career assessments and a chance to learn about business and educational opportunities.
