The first numbers are out on the impact of gay marriage in New York state. The State Health Department released the numbers of gay married couples in a press release last night. In May of 2011, the New York State Senate said gay marriages would generate 311 million dollars. So far though, there have been just 24-hundred same sex marriage licenses issued. It represents just 7-percent of all weddings in the state. If you're married outside New York City, the cost for a license is 40 dollars, meaning the state has only generated 96-thousand dollars, not 311-million. Supporters of gay marriage say New York City isn't included in the figures, and it hasn't been a full year yet.
