House Republicans To Introduce Several Challenges To Dadt Repeal Today

House Republicans will challenge the Navy change that allows chaplains to wed gay soldiers. Today, they plan to introduce several amendments to delay the actual repeal of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policies. The move comes as a response to Navy training changes that would allow chaplains to officiate same sex marriages on U.S. Naval bases. One bill would stall Don't Ask Don't Tell training, a second would reinforce traditional marriage in the military, and a third would allow conscience exemptions-- similar to those offered in the medical field-- to protect service members who oppose homosexuality on religious grounds.
