The leader of a powerful group in New York state is backing same sex marriage.  The Independence Party chairman, Frank McKay, backed it Monday, calling it a civil rights issue-- and saying he's opposed to discrimination of any kind. His party boasts 425-thousand members statewide. That's even larger then the conservative party in New York. Despite that, the Independance Party said while Mckay was clear on what he believes, they are remaining neutral-- and will take no official position on the issue.
