Governor Rendell Pleased With Stimulus

Earlier in the week Governor Ed Rendell commented that the economic stimulus package put together by the U.S. Senate had cut funding to individual states, which meant Mr. Rendell was looking at further cuts in the state budget.

Now with a new compromise federal stimulus bill, the governor is much more optimistic, as he believes there will be more federal money available for Pennsylvania to help with it's budget crunch.

Governor Rendell commented that it appears that the new compromise bill is closer to the House's original plan. If he had his way the stimulus bill would have less tax cuts and more money for infrastructure projects.
