Google Complains About China May Pull Out

Tired of censorship and sick of being hacked, Google is threatening to pull out of China. Google complains that it and 20 other big companies that operate in China are routine targets of cyber attacks that result in the theft of intellectual property. It also charges hackers have routinely attempted to commandeer Google Gmail accounts held by human rights activists in China. Google says it has contacted "relevant authorities" about the cyber attacks, which are considered crimes in the U.S. The company says it will meet with Chinese officials to determine if it can operate an unfiltered search engine in that country. If the answer is "no," Google says it may well pull out of one of the most populous nations on Earth.
