Both of New York's senators are now weighing in on a possible hike in the minimum wage. They aren't looking to raise in the Empire State, they're looking to change it nationally. Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer both said Sunday they support an increase in the wage from 7-25 an hour  to 9-80 an hour. if it gets approved, it would be a dollar thirty an hour more then what New York Democrats were looking to hike it earlier this year. If the wage were increased nationally, New York would have to follow suit. Both senators say the debate in New York has gone stagnant. The bill will be considered in the U.S. Senate in a special session after the fall elections.
