Gays And Lesbians Now Represent 2 Percent Of The Total American Population

The Census Bureau reports there are more than 100-thousand same-sex couples in the U.S. who say they're married-- even though it's only legal in five states.  The first-ever government count on same-sex marriage shows 20-percent of an estimated 646-thousand same-sex couples in the country checked off husband or wife boxes when they filled out their census forms. The number of same sex partners doubled in the past decade. Still though, if 650-thousand people say they are gay, that's only 2-percent of the entire American population of 300-million.
