(Princeton, NJ)  --  Gallup claims unemployment across the U.S. is at ten-percent.  Gallup's mid-month report on national unemployment suggests a late September surge in joblessness should show up in the next federal unemployment report to be issued on November 5th.

In addition, Gallup says that some age groups continue to be especially hard-hit.  The report claims that 14-point-two percent of those 18-to-29-years-old and 13-point-eight percent of those without a college education are jobless.  Overall, Gallup paints a grim picture for consumer spending, retailers and the unemployed as the holidays approach.
