Funeral Services Set For Dad Of 8
12.16.10 |
A Geneseo father of 8 who stopped to help a stranded driver on 390 in Livingston County has died. Ken Parfitt stopped Tuesday morning to check on people involved in an accident. While he was helping, another car lost control on the same slippery road and struck him. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with multiple fractures and a head injury. What's interesting is how his wife responded when she got to the accident scene. Witnesses at the scene say she brought peace to the crash site. She just knelt down on the snow beside him and began to pray. She said outloud-- "Lord, if you're calling him home, then thy will be done." She was interviewed after his death and said God never makes any mistakes, and she will glorify His name-- no matter what happens. Parfitt was 46. His funeral will take place at the Christ Community Church in Geneseo from 4-8 Friday. The memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Old Paths Bible Baptist Church at 4782 Hall Road in Holley, New York. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking you to donate to the Old Paths Bible Baptist Church missions fund. You can do that here.
There is also a wonderful blog on the crash here.
