Fast Food Toys Banned In San Fran

11.10.10 | Sarah Harnisch

San Francisco has become the first major American city to ban toys from fast food kids meals. The city board voted 8 to 3 in favor of banning the toys in any meal that has more then 640 milligrams of salt, 600 calories, or 35 percent of its calories from fat. Opponents say this is about government control, and parents are smart enough to gauge how much fast food their kids get. The city says it's all about kids gaining weight. Parents aren't doing their job. They say someone-- or some city-- has to step and get the attention of other cities in America.
