12.13.10 |
How would you like to get a tour of the worst nuclear disaster in global history? The Ukraine says it's safe now to visit Chernobyl. Ukraine's emergency ministry says the Chernobyl zone will be opened next year-- in 2011-- for people who wish to learn more about the nuclear tragedy that happened 24 years ago. Chernobyl's reactor number 4 exploded April 26th,1986, spewing radiation over a swath of northern Europe. Hundreds of thousands of people re-settled from areas contaminated with radiation fallout. Health problems still persist. Officials insist the site is now safe for tours.
