Evangelical leaders across the country are gathering in Texas today to solidify their front behind a conservative candidate for President. The invite ticket included 150 different names-- like Don Wildmon of the American Family Association, Former Presidential Candidate Gary Bauer, and Focus on the Family founder James Dobson. The group consists mostly of of socially conservative Evangelicals and Tea Partiers. Joe Dugan, Chairman of the Myrtle Beach Tea Party, says "we're aware that the vote is being split-- and we know how dangerous that is." The goal today is to coalesce around one candidate that will energize the conservative base, and still qualify with enough state ballots to ultimatly pose a threat to President Obama.
