Drivers Taking The Thruway And Dodging The Fines

More then a million people who have taken the New York State Thruway have dodged some tolls. Drivers didn't pay 35-million dollars in charges and fines between 2007 and 2011. Records show the Thruway's finances have been hurt by people who zip through the ex pass lines for free, and then never pay the fine. Of the 35 million in uncollected tolls and fines, just 7-million has been recoupled through a credit agency. State lawmakers say if the Thruway can't manage its finances well now it shouldn't be enacting a 45 percent toll increase on truck drivers.
