A settlement has been reached by Darien Lake theme park over the death of a double amputee Iraq war veteran. Darien Lake and the family of James Hackemer reportedly reached a seven-figure settlement, but details haven't been released. The beneficiaries will be Hackemer's 2 young daughters, ages 4 and 6. Hackemer was an Army seargent when he lost both legs to a roadside bomb in 2008. In July 2011, he was at Darien Lake with his family when he fell out of a car on the Ride of Steel rollercoaster, and was instantly killed. State officials said the ride operator was at fault.
