Deer Season In Pa

11.23.10 | Sarah Harnisch

The opening day of the general deer season in Pennsylvania begins in a week, the Monday after Thanksgiving.  The Pennsylvania Game Commission expects nearly 750,000 people hunting that day.  Hunters must wear 250 square inches of fluorescent orange material on the head, chest and back combined at all times while afield. Black bear season in Pennsylvania-- by the way-- ends tonight. Deer season in New York is well underway; the season lasts through December 12th. There is no black bear season in the Empire State.
