Cutting The Pledge Of Allegiance In Half

The pledge of allegiance is being shortened to just 6 words at the schools in North Collins, New York. This is all you'll hear if you're at one of their schools: "I pledge allegience to the flag."
At a work session with the school board last night, things got pretty heated. The school says they've been saying the pledge that way for decades-- and have no plans to change it. They say the pledge is "started" over the intercom for kids to follow at their own pace in their classrooms. Parents and teachers said if they had a chance to vote-- they'd vote against the current system. The school board didn't say-- Tuesday night-- whether or not they'd call for a vote.
