Cuomos Location Options To Plant A Ny Casino Narrow

There are now just 4 regions in the state that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo may plop a casino down. On Tuesday, the governor struck a deal with the Saint Regis Mohawk tribe that maintains exclusive rights to operate casinos in the northern part of the state. It's the second deal struck with an Indian tribe, and it takes 8 counties in the North Country off the table as Andrew Cuomo and lawmakers decide where to site potential non-Indian casinos. The only open spots now are in Western New York, the Southern Tier, the Capitol region and the Catskills.
