Cuomo Releases Report On State Police

A former high ranking member of the State Police may have committed obstruction of justice. That's the conclusion of State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, who conducted an 18-month investigation into allegations of a "rogue" unit within the agency. Cuomo found that rank and file troopers "maintained their integrity," but that wasn't the case with former Deputy Superintendent Daniel Wiese. Cuomo found that Wiese had inappropriate influence over the State Police after he retired and joined the New York Power Authority in 2003. Cuomo says he's now looking into whether Wiese and NYPA Counsel Thomas Kelly obstructed the investigation by destroying documents and e-mails that were subpoenaed.
