Cuomo Keeping His Distance From Obama

08.20.13 | Bob Price

Governor Cuomo will avoid a potentially dicey political conflict by not accompanying the President to parts of New York roiled over the states' ban on hydrofracking.  Mr. Obama supports the technology as an economic boon to help make the country more energy independent.  He's expected to find supporters and protesters of fracking when he visits Syracuse and Binghamton.  Cuomo will meet Obama when he flies into Buffalo but won't appear in either Syracuse or Binghamton with the President.  The Governor has postponed for months a decision on whether to allow fracking.  He's still awaiting a report from his Health Commissioner.
