New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has until next Wednesday to figure out if he's going to sign a bill that would boost the number of organ donors in the state. Currently, the organ donor question is optional on state department of motor vehicles forms, but this bill would require drivers to answer the question. About 19 percent of organ donors are registered in New York State, far below the national average of 43 percent. A spokesman for the governor says he's reviewing the bill, along with 51 other bills that were sent to his desk last week. He has 10 days to act once the bill gets to his desk.
