The Smithsonian Museum is offering a special Christmas season exhibit that features Jesus on the cross... covered in ants. The federally-funded National Portrait Gallery, one of the museums of the Smithsonian, is currently showing the exhibit called Hide/Seek, which is designed to promote the gay and lesbian lifestyle. The Smithsonian argues that while the museum is taxpayer funded, the exhibits are paid for by donations. Chris Edwards, the director of tax policy studies at the Cato Institute said "think about the Washington Post. They don't have to publish every op-ed they get, right? They own the platform-- like the Smithsonian does-- in this situation, the taxpayers own the platform-- and they should decide what's on it. The exhibit runs through February 13th.
