For the first time in six years, Christmas fell on a Sunday yesterday, and many churches in upstate New York opted to keep their doors closed. The Father's House in Chili was one that decided not to hold a Christmas day service. Pastor Chris Folwell said it was almost a sense of giving people permission-- and saying 'go be with your family.' In lieu of a service, they handed out dvd's for families to watch together Christmas morning. According to Lifeway Research, 91-percent of churches across America held at least one Christmas day service, while the other 9-percent did not hold worship services at all.
