Toppled Honduran President Manuel Zelaya is scheduled to hold talks today with Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. The meeting will be held in Washington, DC and is viewed as a sign that President Obama supports Zelaya. The U.S. has expressed its outrage over the June 28th coup that ousted Zelaya and is urging dialogue to bring about a peaceful constitutional solution to the situation. On Sunday, troops thwarted his attempt to reenter Honduras and fought with his followers in the capital city, where at least one person was killed. Caretaker President Roberto Micheletti has defied global pressure to return Zelaya to power. Micheletti says the move to oust Zelaya was legal and he should be arrested if he returns to the country.
