Casino War Governor Cuomo Gives Indians An Ultimatum

Governor Cuomo said he would stay out of Indian territory when casino-planting, if the Indians reach agreements with the state. Some upstate Indian tribes have been withholding 500-million dollars for years in a dispute over gaming rights; but they stand to loose far more then that if their casinos have competition. Cuomo threatened Thursday to open up bidding for 3 casinos in western, central, and northern parts of New York if the Indians don't reach an agreement by the end of the legislative session on June 20th. The Oneidas say they're in talks with Cuomo; the Senecas and Mohawks have been silent.
