Byu Lifts Ban On Youtube Viewing

Students at Brigham Young University are now able to view YouTube on their computers. On Friday the school ended a ban on the video-sharing site, claiming the popular site now provides educational content. The school had blocked YouTube since its inception four years ago because of the site's occasional pornographic and violent amateur videos. The ban had been very unpopular with students. BYU's Honor Code demands that students and faculty abstain from viewing web content that is not "virtuous, lovely or of good report or praiseworthy." The lift of the ban comes as the owners of the university, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, have launched their own YouTube channel to promote their causes.
