Bp Posts Live Video Of Gushing Oil Leak

BP has posted a live, real-time video stream of the oil leak gushing into the Gulf of Mexico.  Such a feed was requested by Congressman Edward Markey, the chairman of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming.  Markey sent the company a letter saying the American public has a right to monitor BP's progress in containing the massive spill.  Markey told a group of independent scientists who are pushing to analyze the video quote, "this may be BP's footage, but it's America's ocean."  An independent analysis will help officials determine whether BP's estimate of how much oil is spewing into the gulf is accurate.

Many experts fear the amount of crude is far greater than the roughly four-point-five-million gallons BP claims has spilled from the ruptured well so far.  The Deepwater Horizon rig sank last month after an explosion killed eleven workers.  The feed is available at globalwarming.house.gov.
