Binghamton Is Going Green

12.03.13 | Bob Price

The City of Binghamton New York is planting more than 200 trees before the end of the year.  The greenery is compliments of NASCAR which is donating 90 of the trees to the city. NYSEG also donated trees after this summer's trimming controversy on the city's west side.  Outgoing mayor Matt Ryan says the goal is to create a canopy within Binghamton that enhances the neighborhood and increases property values.  Residents interested in having trees planted where they live are encouraged to fill out a tree request form.  The trees will be planted over a 3 year period.
