Back From Kingdom Bound 2009

08.12.09 | Darcie Schwarz

Family Life wrapped up another Kingdom Bound after four great days of interviewing artists, entertaining crowds, and hosting contests and giveaways. It’s quite a spectacle watching thousands of people gather from all over the country to celebrate God together. We come to bless FLN listeners and visitors to the festival, but always leave Kingdom Bound feeling more blessed in return.

Each morning campers would wake up with coffee and donuts while Sonny and Denny did a live morning show from 6am to 9am in the broadcast tent. Yeah, that’s crazy early – we know! However, that tent was packed at 6am each morning without fail. Then in the afternoons, FLN interviewed different Christian artists giving concerts at the festival: Casting Crowns, Laura Story, Phil Joel, and Matthew West. Other big names in Christian music also gave some great interviews, including Natalie Grant and The Newsboys.

The Family Life Welcome Tent was busy again this year too. Hundreds of excited festival-goers came to spin the prize wheel, enter contests, and talk with staff about what’s new at the ministry. Not to mention, we had a great time throwing out T-shirts, Frisbees, and beach balls to the crowds. Free popsicles were in the mix, too.  That made for many happy people who spent most of their day standing in the sun.

Family Life also wants to congratulate one of our big contest winners - Abigail Kutalek of Binghamton, NY. Abigail won six full event passes to Kingdom Bound 2010 with RV lodging!
