Astorino Creates Stop Common Core Line On November Ny Ballot

Republican gubernatorial hopeful Rob Astorino and the rest of the G-O-P's statewide ticket turned in petitions Tuesday to create a "stop Common Core" line on the New York ballot this fall. Astorino says his camp has collected "plenty" of signatures to create the third-party ballot line. State law requires 15-thousand petition signatures, including a thousand from a majority of congressional districts for a new line on the ballot. Astorino's campaign says it filed 62-thousand petition signatures. The state Board of Elections says they received the filings and are currently processing them.
