Apple Reportedly Working On Two New Iphones

Apple is planning to release two new iPhones this year, one an upgrade to the current model and another that will work with the Verizon Wireless system. "The Wall Street Journal" reports the upgrade is no surprise, with Apple continuing to offer annual technology updates. A thinner case and faster processor are in store for the new model. The other model is more revolutionary and signals an end to AT&T's exclusive contract on the device.

 The new iPhone would work with the technology used by Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel. There's no word on when the Verizon-compatible phone might be available, but the "Journal" says production is supposed to begin in September. Neither Apple nor Verizon, which has more than 91-million customers, has commented
