American Company Sells Millions Of Chopsticks To China

Many of the things you buy are made in China. But one company in south central Georgia has decided to turn things around. The Georgia Chopsticks Plant is making 10-million chopsticks a day and selling them directly to China. China goes through 50-billion chopsticks a year, and their supply is short. The reason? They have placed a ban on logging because of a shortage of trees. Georgia's trees are excellent for chopstick making. The owner of the chopsticks plant says business is booming, and he's hoping to hire 150 workers. The city the plant is located in, Americus, Georgia, is known in the state for it's 12-percent unemployment rate.
