Air Force Falcon Goes A Wol
12.28.10 |
An Air Force falcon went A-WOL at the Independence Bowl. For Monday night only, if you were in Shreveport, you could have spotted a live falcon circling downtown for no particular reason. It's because the Air Force Academy's live mascot-- called "the bird"-- took advantage of his usual pregame flight around the stadium; leaving the stadium behind for a quick tour of Shreveport nightlife... ahead of the Falcon's 14-7 Independence Bowl win over Georgia Tech. The bird eluded his handlers for the better part of 3 hours before being spotted downtown, coralled, and hustled back to the stadium for the victory party as the final seconds ticked down on the Falcon's win.
