A Day Of Silence

Upstate New York and Pennsylvania will pause at 9:30 Friday morning to remember the victims at Sandy Hook Elementary School. Steuben County Legislature Chairman Joe Hauryski proclaimed Friday a day of mourning and requested the whole state to join in. He is asking New Yorkers to observe a moment of silence at exactly 9:30 a.m., the moment the gunman entered the school. Also, he wants places of worship across the state to toll their bells 26 times in honor of the 20 children and six teachers that lost their lives. Similar observances are expected to take place in Pennsylvania and across the United States.
