(Washington, DC)  --  Despite Christmas hiring, overall unemployment took another hit in December.  The Labor Department reports the economy lost another 85-thousand non-farm jobs last month, keeping the unemployment rate at ten-percent.

Employment was up in the healthcare industry and in temporary services, but dropped in construction, manufacturing and the wholesale sector.  President Obama is expected to talk about the latest jobs figures later today, amid speculation he'll throw his support behind a second economic stimulus package.
