5 States Poised To Pass Personhood Bills

Mississippi could be one of the first states to pass a "Life At Fertilization" bill, and four other states are right on their heels with votes pending in 2012. Organizers say their goal is to provoke a court fight to overturn Roe versus Wade-- the 1973 U.S. Supreme Court decision that established a legal right to abortion. The laws in these states would show a baby has personhood at the moment of conception, and not at birth-- meaning abortion would be likened to murder. The Mississippi law is expected to pass November 8th.
