The military says more than 300 soldiers from the Pennsylvania National Guard are about to return home. The first wave of more than 4,000 Guard members will arrive Tuesday at Fort Dix, N.J., after more than six months of combat operations north of Baghdad.

The 300 soldiers are part of the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team. It's headquartered in northeast Philadelphia but includes soldiers from across the state. The military says the brigade has completed more than $22 million in projects to help rebuild communities north of Baghdad.
