A new study from "The Journal of the American Medical Association" found that people who ate lots of sugar had higher levels of triglycerides and LDL (or bad) cholesterol, as well as lower levels of HDL (or good) cholesterol.
The phenomenal rise in consumption of sugar in the U.S. is one of the reasons for the declining health we are seeing on our country. From 4 pounds in the 1700's to a whopping 180 pounds in 2009! It is in virtually every processed food that we so easily grab off the the shelf. Shopping the perimeter of the grocery store will insure you of feeding your family whole foods and a lot less sugar, preservatives and chemicals!
