I have a confession to make. April 15th is a day that I really hate and I’m so glad it came and went a couple of weeks ago. April 15th is the one day of the year that makes one think of taxes and that’s enough to get almost anyone angry. Now I know that taxes are part of life, but I think paying taxes in America really stinks.

For starters, the amount we pay in taxes is simply obscene. We fork over too much in local, state, and federal taxes. New York and Pennsylvania should get Academy Awards for soaking their citizens with high taxes. Then our hard earned money is handed over to politicians and bureaucrats in Albany and Harrisburg who waste it and often give it to lazy good-for-nothings who simply do not want to work.

On top of this, the federal government collects our hard earned cash and then spends the money like a drunken sailor on inefficient and ineffective programs. So much money is spent that the government has to borrow from China and then our tax dollars are spent to pay the interest on the money that the idiots in Washington have borrowed.

It’s no wonder that that the Tea Party Movement has stuck a cord with millions of Americans. Americans who are sick and tired of the tax and spend mentality that is ruining this country. I agree with the late great President Ronald Reagan who said, “Government is not the solution to our problem. Government is the problem.”

I’m glad that April 15th won’t be around for another year because it represents and symbolizes what is so terribly wrong with America. It’s a day that I really hate.
