All You Need Is Love...

I love these people here… I just love them. Not exactly a profound way to start a blog – but in the middle of a crazy Sharathon Friday night, it cuts through all the clamor and the noise. I love the people who work here. Really. Don’t get the wrong idea… we are far from perfect. We’re made of the same stuff of earth like the rest of Adam’s race… clay pots (some of us cracked), but holding something unimaginable – the presence of the Living God. That doesn’t mean that we don’t struggle. It doesn’t mean that we don’t occasionally get on each other’s nerves. It certainly doesn’t mean that we are more spiritual than anyone else who’s part of God’s family. It just means that God has put us here at Family Life… an assortment of clay pots, each holding a different expression of Grace.

Did I mention that I love these people? It seems funny to be fixed on that thought during a Sharathon of all things… but maybe not. Sharathon is a time when we shed our job descriptions and simply hang with each other – working crazy hours and cracking insane jokes, celebrating, laughing, even dancing (if that’s what you want to call it!). No barriers, no office walls, no departmental differences… we pray together… praise together – caught up in one purpose – together. It’s a chance to know each other as the brothers and sisters we really are, instead of just “the accountant,” the “writer,” or the “announcer.” I love it… I love this experience of “family” that only seems to happen at Sharathon. This is reality. This is more real than the jobs we do or the titles we have on our business cards. Maybe this is the way we should be all the time… and not just at Family Life, but throughout this whole new creation family of Christ. To love each other as Jesus loved us… now that would be a true taste of heaven.

You know something… I love these people.

"...an assortment of clay pots, each holding a different expression of Grace." Very cool, Sandy. If we look at each other as different expressions of God's grace, it just may help us to see each other through His eyes that much easier.
