Location: Family Life
This luncheon will feature author and historian Kirk House who will show pictures and talk about the catastrophic Hurricane Agnes flood of 1972... how it came about, how it devastated our area, and how it has affected us ever since. Kirk has recently published a historic photo book on the flood, and will have copies available.
Kirk House started out his professional career with 21 years in Christian schools and colleges, before coming to Bath and the Curtiss Museum in 1996. He served the museum for six and a-half years as director and/or curator, and is now director of the Steuben County Historical Society. He also teaches part-time at Genesee Community College in Dansville, preaches weekly at Pleasant Valley Mennonite Church, and hikes as much as he can on the Finger Lakes Trail. The 1972 Flood in New York's Southern Tier is his fifteenth book.
