The apostle Paul whets your appetite for the glories of heaven.

Romans 8:18  [The apostle Paul said]  "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared to the glory that is to be revealed to us."  (NASB)

When God asks you to walk the road of suffering in this life, it will end sooner or later, and when it does, you are given a glorious new body and ushered into God's presence.  Think of it:  eternity will commence for you!  If you could see heaven and all it entails -- you would focus less on the pain of the present as you anticipate heaven to come.

C.S. Lewis describes the yearning for heaven when he writes, "we want something else which can hardly be put into words -- to be united with the beauty we see, . . . to become part of it."  More concisely, Lewis says, "The door upon which we have been knocking all our lives will open at last."
