The apostle Paul writes of the new life God provides to Christ-followers.

Romans 6:4 Therefore we have been buried with Him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life.   (NASB)

All of us initially love to sin! Before Christ came into your life we sinned as Adam sinned. It’s what we do – why not? If Christ is not the ruler of your life you simply do what you want to do – and sometimes that goes contrary to the will of God.

However, when you decided to follow Jesus – you become part of Him! You receive His Spirit forever. The Bible calls it the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Now when you experience the temptation to sin, instead of doing anything you want to do; you begin to want to do what Christ wants you to do. This is something radical . . . it’s newness of life!
