King Solomon writes of the essential quality of humbly listening to reproof.

Proverbs 15:32  If you reject criticism, you will only harm yourself; but if you listen to correction, you grow in understanding.  (NLT)

Hearing and internalizing reproofs and corrections is how human-beings mature!  No one is born with all the knowledge necessary for life -- we are all ignorant children until we learn to strengthen our weaknesses.  Blind spots abound in the heart that thinks it knows it all!

Be thankful for the one who loves you enough to warn you from the road that leads to destruction!  How often would you have suffered pain or mishap, but for someone more seasoned and experienced, getting into your face with a wise rebuke?  Fortunately, ignorance is not a terminal condition!  As you listen and learn, you grow to be able to someday teach others.
