The apostle Paul writes about how certain directions of thought become stronger with repetition.

Philippians 4:8 . . . Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. (NLT)

One Bible teacher declared this verse is about placing strict controls upon what you think about. Why is that important? Elsewhere in the Bible it says, “as a man thinks in His heart; so is he.”

Exclude false thinking . . . wrong thinking . . . lustful thinking, etc. The thoughts you allow in your mind change you a little; so today, determine to think intentionally about that which is true and honorable and right! Whatever you sow you reap!
