The apostle Matthew records Jesus' words about anxiety.

Matthew 6:34 So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. (NASB)

How prone we are to borrow worry from tomorrow -- over which we have no knowledge or control.  God lifts this burden from us and commands us not to worry.  Matthew Henry writes:  "As we must not boast of tomorrow, so we must not care about tomorrow, or the events of it.  God has given us life, and has given us the body.  And what can He not do for us, who did that?"

So much of what we worry about never comes to pass!  Rather than waste time and energy on what might be, let us determine to:  "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness".  When Christ and His kingdom are first, He promises your needs will be met   . . .  and not just met, but "pressed down and overflowing, above and beyond all we ask or think."
