Jesus calls on His followers to make eternal reward their first priority.

Matthew 6:19-20 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, (NASB)

Devoting your life to gathering possessions and financial security is a short-sighted strategy for the Christ follower. What about after our life on earth is over? Jesus says, adopt an eternal perspective about riches!

Earthly treasures can be stolen by scams, thieves, and even time can degrade their worth. Jesus says live in such a way that your actions result in heavenly wealth. Money given to send a student on a short-term missions project, a gift to help the poor, giving to support a missionary – these are investments in eternity!

Thank you for sharing a verse each day. It’s just a little piece of my day but it’s becoming a quick reminder to try to include God in more of my life. Thank you again
