The apostle James declares the road to wisdom begins with a question.

James 1:5  If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.  (NLT)

Wisdom is not the same as knowledge.  For example, if you were about to have a delicate operation to repair a damaged heart valve . . .  would you choose a doctor who had just graduated -- or a doctor of many years practice who would be able to apply the knowledge and have the discernment to know what to do in unexpected situations?  Over and over the Bible commands us to get wisdom.

John Piper writes, "Wisdom must include a sensitive, mature judgement or discernment of how the fear of the Lord should work itself out in all the circumstances not specifically dealt with in the Bible."  Whether you are beginning to acquire judgement and discernment to act wisely, or you've developed it over years of experience -- the Bible says, "if you lack wisdom" ask of God and He promises to give you all you need and more!  But you have to ask!!
