The prophet Isaiah writes of the strength of the Lord empowering the Christ-follower as you wait/hope in Him.

Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  (KJV)

If there is anything I dislike it’s waiting! Yet to the Lord "a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years is like a day". Time is not an issue with the Eternal God – what He is after is an end-product with which He is pleased. Recall Old Testament Joseph waited from being a teen until age 30, to realize the goal of a vision God had given him – that one day his brothers and father would bow before him!

This verse speaks of hope as we wait on the Lord. It’s the exchanged life: we wait on Him; He gives us strength to do His will; He gets the glory! It’s not a maybe-hope – it's a certain-hope based on the promise of God, who always keeps His Word.
